Rawalpindi Ring Road Acquisition 2021 by PTI
The Rawalpindi Ring Road project has seen many changes and controversy over the years but now the revised project plan has finally passed.
The Punjab Planning and Development Board (PPDB) has granted permission to the local authorities for the selection and acquisition of the revised Rawalpindi Ring Road Project.
The PPDB has approved the PC-I of the project. The PC-I of the project costs Rs.6.7 billion.
So what is the new route of Rawalpindi Ring Road?
The PPDB Has proposed a new route that spans around 38.5 Kilometers. The route will start from Rawat and will terminate at Thailan, which is near the motorway.
The land was acquired for Rs380 Million to purchase the land for the ring road project, however, the news of corruption has put the purchase canceled.
“As per the new route, the 38.3-km-long new route will start from Banth near Rawat and end at Thalian near the motorway. New price assessment will be made after imposing section 4 in the area to stop people from sale and purchase of land,”
The project was started by the Nawaz Led federal government in 2014, but after the change in power, the PTI-led government has made new changes to the project but soon canceled the new project after charges of corruption.
